Anne Boleyn

Anne BoleynAnne Boleyn was one of Catherine of Aragon's ladies in waiting when Henry VIII fell in love with her. When the Pope refused to grant him a divorce, Henry split with the Catholic Church, set up the Church of England and married Anne.

Anne was pregnant when they married but went on to give birth to a girl, Elizabeth. Two years later and no male heir and Henry tired of Anne.

Henry had Anne tried for adultery which, for a Queen, meant treason. It is likely that Anne was innocent, but she was found guilty. Henry had their marriage disolved and Anne was beheaded.
