Add some
excitement to bath-time for a younger brother or sister with some fun bath foam
shapes! Simple and quick to do, with endless variations.
You will need:
Sheets of craft foam in various colours
Scissors
Templates (or paper and pencil to make your own)
Container for storage *
* a bright plastic colander is a brilliant storage container for bath
foam shapes. Put the shapes inside and wrap up with cellophane or wrapping
paper. The colander can be used to scoop all the shapes out of the bath
and to store them in the bathroom.
Instructions:
Decide what sort of shapes would be appropriate. You could make a set
of Christmas shapes (trees, bells, hearts and stars), ocean creatures,
flowers and leaves for a girlie girl, etc etc. You can use our templates
if you wish, or make your own. Many kids will appreciate a simple set of
"building block" shapes (circles, squares, rectangles, triangles
etc) so that they can "build" on the side of the bath and make
their own creations.
Simply use your templates to mark onto the craft foam lightly with a
pencil, and cut the shapes out. You can use a hole punch to decorate the
edges, or to make eyes. Pinking shears can be fun too.
Make a big collection and try to resist playing with them yourself!
