Check that your child is taking in what they are reading by asking them
to fill out a book report. We have three levels to cater for all ages and
stages - the youngest child needs to do little more than put in the title
of the book and circle the appropriate response!
You can use these in
the home or classroom. You might want to file them in an index box for
future reference or put them on display for other children to read. Older
children could use them to present a short report to the class about a
book they have just read, or a favourite from their own bookshelves.
Even if you don't regularly write a book report, it can be fun to try to keep a
record of all books read during the summer holidays, perhaps, or when your child
is off school sick.
