Catherine Parr Printables
Catherine Parr was
Henry VIII's sixth wife. She had been married and widowed twice before she
caught Henry's eye and was 31 when she married him. It is thought that she was
in love with Thomas Seymour, the brother of Henry's third wife,
Jane Seymour, when Henry proposed. She
is thought to have been a kind lady (she brought Henry's two daughters back into
his life and got on well with her step-son Edward) and she ruled the country
successfully when Henry was away at war with France. After Henry's death she
married Thomas Seymour but sadly died shortly after having her first child.
