Chinese Blossom Activities

Blossom is symbolic of the New Year, and blossom branches are a traditional decoration at Chinese New Year, and welcome in most houses at any time!

Activity 1
Go out for a walk with the children and collect suitable branches. Make a selection of pink tissue and crepe paper flowers and attach them to your branches. 

Activity 2
Print out our bare "branch". Colour in with browns and greens (have a look at the graphic above if you need inspiration). Cut blossoms and buds out of pink craft foam, felt, washing up sponge, calico fabric scraps, or a mixture of all of these, and have fun sticking them on!

Activity 3
Print out our coloured blossom branch and have fun embelleshing it with glitter, glitter glue, beads, pearls etc - kids can really go to town on this!

Decorate a Paper Lantern NEW!
This paper lantern is easy for even young kids to decorate, with supervision, but it looks very pretty! Perfect for the Lantern Festival on the last day of Chinese New Year.
