Chinese Dragon Puppet
We've used a beautiful gold ribbon to give our Chinese Dragon Puppet a
"scaly" effect, along with bright pink, orange and red craft foam. I think you
will agree it looks spectacular!
Chinese Dragon Puppet
You will need:
Craft foam
Wiggle eyes
Decorative ribbon
Glue
2 popsicle sticks
Instructions:
Cut out a dragon head from the craft foam. Decorate with wiggle eyes and
other pieces of craft foam. Use our photos for guidance.
Cut out and make a tail from craft foam too.
Glue the head to one end of the ribbon and the tail to the other end. Glue a
popsicle stick to the head and one to the tail.
You can have the ribbon as long as you like (ours is short so we could
photograph it easier). If you used a very long piece of ribbon you could glue
popsicle sticks at various point along the ribbon. The puppet could then be
controlled by more than one child.
Variation:
Make a smaller head and tail and use a short length of ribbon. Don't add the
popsicle sticks, and you could use your dragon as a bookmark. It would make a
great "good luck" Chinese New Year present!
