Christmas Word Jigsaws

We have 3 different sets of Christmas word jigsaws to suit a range of ages. We have some ideas for how you could use them below;

  • For the youngest children, work on one jigsaw at a time. Show the child the jigsaw before you cut it apart and study the word. Now jumble the letters slightly as see if they can put them back together again in the correct order.
  • For more experienced readers, present the pieces in a pile and leave the child to work out the word.
  • For confident readers or older children, give the child two or more jigsaws jumbled up together for a tougher challenge!
  • As a rainy afternoon group activity, you could present a set of jigsaws, mixed up together, and ask for them all to be sorted out - possibly against the clock!

Store the jigsaws in envelopes with the words written on, or in resealable bags.
