Early Years Groups Get Set for Sport Relief!

The Sport Relief Weekend kicks off on Friday 19th March, and hundreds of
early years groups across the UK are gearing up to make it the best one ever!
There’s still time to get involved and the Sport Relief website,
www.sportrelief.com/earlyyears, features a wealth of resources for early
years practitioners. From fantastic free foundation linked learning activities
and brilliant fundraising ideas tailored to meet the needs of early years groups
to a step-by-step guide to plan the day.
Practitioners can also download a free Early Years Activity Kit containing
everything needed to host a Sport Relief LazyTown party. As well as being a
great way to get little ones moving and have some fun, all the money raised will
help change lives forever.
On the
website there is also the opportunity to meet Sonia from Delhi and download
activities to help children understand the differences and similarities between
their lives and those of other children around the world.
LazyTown’s Sportacus comments: “Sport Relief 2010 is a fantastic chance for your
nursery to join with me and the LazyTown gang to have fun, do sport and do good.
It’s important to get children active from an early age and by teaming up and
taking part in Sport Relief your class will have lots of fun while raising money
for those who really need it in the UK and around the world.”
Busy Bees Nursery in Harpenden has made sure their group will be a hive of
activity for Sport Relief, with a full day of family fun lined up. The little
ones are getting sponsored to walk a mile course with their families and there
will be face painting and magicians on hand to get everyone in the party mood.
So join Sportacus and the gang,
rise to the challenge and get fundraising!
Don’t forget! Staff can enter a team in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on
Sunday 21st March. Go online to
www.sportrelief.com to
enter and start getting sponsored now!
