Edward IV Printables
King Edward IV snatched the crown from
Henry VI in the War of the Roses, and ruled England from 1461 to 1483, with
a brief break in 1470/71 when Henry VI was
restored to the throne. He was 6 foot 4 inches tall - the tallest British
monarch so far - and was a very good soldier. He died of illness and the crown
passed to his 12 year old son, Edward V,
under the protection of his brother, Richard (who became
Richard III).
