Ghost Busters

This is our made-up Halloween combination of
Hunt The Thimble /
The Wool Game - and it is lots of fun!
First make a collection of ghosts. You might like to use our
Ghost Cards, get the kids to cut out their own
ghosts, or even make a collection of origami
ghosts.
Now divide the players into two groups. Send one team from the
room while the other team hides the ghosts. Make sure you stipulate what level
of hiding is acceptable - we usually say that some part of the ghost must be
visible - and whether some pieces of furniture are off-limits.
The first team now returns and tries to find all the ghosts.
They then get a turn to hide the ghosts.
Variations:
An adult hides all the ghosts and the children compete with
each other to find them.
Attach a small length of wool/yarn to the back of each ghost
with a small strip of sticky tape. Proceed as in The
Wool Game.
Add a forfeit to the back of one or two ghosts (without
necessarily telling the children!) Whoever finds those ghosts must do the
forfeit before the next round of the game.
Add a bonus prize to the back of one or two of the ghosts
instead!
