Group Games And Activities
If you find yourself with a large group of children to entertain,
don't panic! Most kids love to play organized games and a large group is a great
excuse to play some of these favorites:

Beanbag Contest
A team-building game which develops dexterity and concentration, and is lots of
fun. Adapt to the age of your children.
Beanbag Cross
Challenge
This is a great game for a large gathering of children - you need at least a
team of 8, a fairly large space and a means of marking the ground. A good test
of concentration and skill!
Blind Man's Bluff
This is a classic game which is useful to have up your sleeve for a restless
crowd of kids!
Capture the flag
You will need a large group of children and a large space, too, but if you
have both, this is a favorite game for all ages.
Catch The Dragon's Tail
NEW!
This traditional Chinese game is great fun for the playground. You will need a
large group of children - at least 10, but the more the merrier!
Chase the rabbit
You don't need any equipment for this easy game - and it will tire the kids out
nicely!
Chinese Ball NEW!
This traditional Chinese playground game develops children's ball skills and
their concentration - it really keeps them on their toes!
Concentration
This is a sit-down clapping and chanting group game which was a real craze for a
while at my school. It works at all sorts of occasions and can be very
enjoyable.
Duck Duck Goose
A popular and energetic circle game.
Finding Flowers
A simple, old-fashioned game for young children.
Forcing The City Gates
NEW!
A traditional Chinese rough outdoor game for boys.
French cricket
French Cricket is a very popular game with older children and teenagers, but it
is fun in a family gathering too. You need at least 6 players for a good game,
and a fairly large space to play.
Going To Town
NEW!
A traditional Chinese girl's game, this one is fun for large gatherings or just
for two. Boys enjoy it too. Good for encouraging kids to work together.
I Like To ...
A simple memory game which helps children get to know each other and is fun to
play too.
Moon Cake NEW!
This playground game needs chalk and at least 4 kids, but preferably more. It is
good for children learning their numbers and easy addition.
My Favourite Things
A simple drawing game for younger children, good for helping them to get to know
each other (and for you to get to know them, and have something to talk about)
Name Chase
This is a good game for young children who don't yet know each other's names,
based on Duck, Duck, Goose. It works particularly well when new children join a
group who already know each other.
Spider and flies
A game of tag with a difference!
Tag
Everybody knows the rules of tag, so it is just here as a reminder! You will
find some variations below.
What's The Time Mr Wolf?
Best with a group of fairly young children - say 5-8 years old.
Who Am I?
This is a nice way of calming down a group of children as it tests not only
their powers of observation but also their ability to listen closely.
Who Touched Me?
This game is similar to Blind Man's Bluff, and works well with large groups of
children or at a party.
Wipe That Smile Off Your Face!
This is a silly group game which is sure to cause a laugh.
There are lots more games which are suitable for large groups
of children on our party games
