Here's a pretty heart lacing card that makes an easily portable activity for younger children, perfect for developing fine motor skills or early stitches. Just print onto card, cut out, laminate if you wish, then punch holes around the edges.
For older children you could punch smaller holes along one of the lines using a blunt needle, to be stitched in running stitch with embroidery thread.
