John Adams

 


John AdamsJohn Adams (1735-1826) was the second President of the United States, serving from 1797 to 1801. He had been closely involved in the American Revolution and helped draft the Declaration of Independence. Before becoming President he had been Vice-President to George Washington.

Adams was not always a popular President but is remembered for his thoughts on how governments should work. He also insisted on the importance of providing education for everyone.
