New
Year Collage Competition 2010 Entries
Our New Year Collage 2010 competition has now closed, and you can see the
winning collage as well as other fabulous and creative entries below. Well
done to everybody who entered!
Judging the competition has been really tricky as there were so many excellent entries,
and it would be nice if we could award everyone a prize! But we've decided to
award one overall winner's prize, and 4 runner's up prizes by age category.
And the overall winner is:

Sprite, aged 10, used origami cranes which she folded herself in this super
collage. Well done Sprite! Sprite wins a £30 Amazon gift voucher and her mother
wins a voucher for two Activity Village downloads of her choice.
Under 5's runners-up:

This lovely collage is by Neel, aged 3 years 10 months! The materials were
collected for him and include coloured net, old newspaper, coloured adhesive
papers and dried leaves and flowers. His mother says he loved doing this craft!
Neel wins a £10 Amazon gift voucher and his mother wins an Activity Village
download of her choice.

Samuel's collage (aged 2). We can tell that Samuel had some fun with this!
Samuel wins a £10 Amazon gift voucher and his mother wins an Activity Village
download of her choice.
Aged 5-8 runner-up:

2010 collage by Ryan, aged 6. Love those smiley faces and the cheerful colours!
We think this collage really captures the excitement of the New Year. Ryan wins
a £10 Amazon gift voucher and his mother wins an Activity Village download of
her choice.
Aged 9+ runner-up:

Luke, aged 9, has really made his 2010 picture "zing" by surrounding it with
wooden lollipop sticks and golf teas. Very exciting! Luke wins a £10 Amazon gift
voucher and his teacher wins an Activity Village download of her choice.
And special mentions for these collages - well done everyone!

2010 collage by Julia, aged 6. Julia has used felt shapes, stickers, pompoms and
googly eyes in her collage! We particularly like the number 2.

Collage by Ty, aged 5. There are some lovely glittery accents on this collage,
and we like the way Ty has chosen a shape to sit on top of the numbers and
inside the zero's.

2010 collage by Leanne, aged 9. Leanne's collage is ordered, cheerful, clean and fun! We like the way the
animals are interacting with the numbers, and the use of the smaller numbers on
the bigger numbers.

7 year old Sara's 2010 painting uses a really pretty colour palette of blues,
purples and green, with some glitter thrown in to bring it all alive. Lovely!

This is Makenzie's collage. Makenzie is 7, and has chosen pinks, purples and
blues for this 2010 collage. We think it is very pretty and like the way the
zero's are decorated.

Collage by Marisa aged 10. Maris has punched holes in her numbers and threaded
different materials through. It is very original and gives the picture great
texture! We like the exclamation marks, too.

2010 collage by Kyle, aged 11. Kyle has used a mixture of colouring and collage
to make his numbers really stand out. We like the first zero which its inside of
net and the black outline - very clever.

2010 collage by Bethany, aged 4. Bethany and Samuel had a New Year's Day party
with their friend Gracie, and here are the collages they made - aren't they fun!

Collage by Gracie, aged 5.
