A Message From Lindsay
Happy New Year! Here's wishing all our visitors a peaceful, prosperous and
fun-filled 2009!
We are overflowing with ideas for the next few weeks and months and we are putting
new activities up on the website as fast as we can. If you have any ideas,
feedback, requests or submissions please, as always, get in touch with me by
sending an email to editor (at) activityvillage.co.uk. We can't manage
everything and sadly we can't please everyone, but we do like to try and it is
great to hear from you.

Recommended Product
If you have any behavioral issues with your kids, you might want
to check out the
Better Behavior Wheel,
from Robert and Julie Butler. We've been recommending it at Activity
Village for over two years now and have had great feedback from
purchasers (as well as resorting to it ourselves on occasion!)
Available as a digital
download, the Better Behavior Wheel allows you to set consequences for
undesirable behavior that fit your family - and the unusual and very
clever twist of having to spin the wheel to discover your punishment
works wonders to take the stress out of the situation for the parent and
reinforce the message for the child. This is an excellent product and we
recommend it highly.

A Giggle!
"Always be nice to your children because they are the ones who will
choose your rest home."
Phyllis Diller

Reader Tip of the Week
This week's tip comes from Gillian:
Save money on kitchen towel and paper napkins by buying a bundle of
wash cloths (flannels) on sale this year. A damp wash cloth can clean up
a child in a jiffy, and is much more pleasant to use than a baby wipe or
kitchen towel. Buy one color for each child, or buy dark colors for
cleaning up after painting and light colors for cleaning up after
eating. Whatever you like and suits you! Buy enough so that you can
throw them in the wash once a week, and they will last you for years.
Have You Seen?

A simple pack of cards (or two) can provide hours of fun for the family,
and teaching your kids a card game or two is a great idea.

Something To Think About..
"Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion.
I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do
afterward."
Kurt Vonnegut
