Always Smile Back at Little Children
Earlier today I posted a quote on our Facebook page which really
struck a chord:
"Always smile back at little children. To ignore them is to destroy their belief that the world is good."
Pam Brown
It made me think about the way a smile from a child almost always makes us feel happy - and how lucky we feel if we come across one
unexpectedly. And then I found this wonderful gallery of children's smiles, "1008 children smiling for world peace",
and I bookmarked it so that I can return to the page on days when I might need a smile boost myself!
This last week we've been "royalty" mad at Activity Village, as Monday marked the 60th anniversary of
HM Queen Elizabeth's accession to the throne. The official celebrations are in early June but we began building our
Diamond Jubilee resources early (and have more to add over the next week or two), especially as there will be a member of the royal family visiting each
country of the Commonwealth over the next few months ... one could be coming your way soon! And of course we are only a few days away from
Valentine's Day, so we've been adding new Valentines content too.

What can we learn from our kids...
- It's more fun to colour outside the lines.
- If you're going to draw on the wall, do it behind the couch.
- Even Popeye didn't eat his spinach until he absolutely had to.
- If your dog doesn't like someone you probably shouldn't either.
- Sometimes you have to take the test before you've finished studying.
- If you want a kitten, start out asking for a horse.
- There is no good reason why clothes have to match.
- If the horse you're drawing looks more like a dog, make it a dog.
- Save a place in lines for your friends.
- Just keep banging until someone opens the door.
- Making your bed is a waste of time.
- Make up the rules as you go along.
- It doesn't matter who started it.
- Ask for sprinkles.
- Hang on tight.
- Ask "why" until you understand.
