Make Your Own Skittles

Making your own skittles is an easy craft for children of all ages - and you will end up with a game that they can enjoy, and be proud of, for years to come!

You will need:

Plastic drinks bottles
Play sand or other weighty material
Kitchen funnel (or make one with a cone of paper)
PVA (white glue)
Acrylic paints and paintbrushes
Ball to play

Instructions:

Collect together a number of plastic drinks bottles, preferably of the same size and shape.

Using your funnel, fill each bottle about one third full of sand, earth (dirt) or other weighty material. Now paint around the top of the bottle with the glue and screw the lids on tightly.

Paint your skittles, adding numbers if you wish to allow the possibility of a scoring game.

Now line them up, grab your ball and have fun!

Fishing (Tiu-u or Chinese Dominoes)
This game of Chinese dominoes sounds a little complicated to begin with but is in fact very simple to play. The name ‘fishing’ comes from the idea that players ‘fish’ for matching dominoes. You can either print out our dominoes or make your own more authentic version with popsicle sticks (instructions included!)
