Valentine Lollipops

This idea adapts well
for other occasions during the year - particularly for birthday parties,
Halloween and Christmas.
For a quick Valentine's present or treat, make these little lollipops ... the
kids can help. Buy some plain old-fashioned lollipops in bright colours - the
ones wrapped in cellophane. Then simply cut out 2 matching heart shapes,
slightly bigger than the lollipop, in coloured paper or card and stick one
on either side of the lollipop using either a loop of sticky tape, double-sided
tape, or a small dab of glue (making sure it stays on the cellophane wrapper!)
Mixing bright red and bright pink papers looks very cheerful and appealing. You
could also use some of our scrapbook paper
- the red gingham looks particularly
good. If you want to embellish further you could add stickers, glitter, or
perhaps a fancy initial in gold or silver pen.

Alternatively, you can print
out these heart designs in more
subdued colours and use them to decorate the lollipops, perhaps teamed with a
small pink ribbon bow tied around the stick. Another idea!
Are you
having a Valentine party? Why not bake a big chocolate cake and stand a
selection of Valentine Lollipops upright in the icing - it looks gorgeous!
