Vanilla Oatmeal with a Cherry Twist
The vanilla and cherry jam combine to make this breakfast
porridge particularly delicious and creamy! Of course you can use other dried
berries and flavours or jam if you prefer.
Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups water
1 cup old fashioned oats, or quick cooking oats
Pinch salt
1/4 cup dried cherries (or dried blueberries)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons cherry jam
1/4 cup milk
Instructions:
Bring the water, oats, salt and cherries to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer
until the oats reach desired consistency.
Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and
cherry jam and a splash or two of milk to taste. Serve immediately.
