I love this reading worm! It's a slightly more sophisticated version of the one that I used when I was helping my children learn to read, and we had such fun with him. Here you can find 10 worms, each with 10 of the top 100 high frequency words specified in Letters and Sounds, in order. We used to colour in each segment of the worm as we learned to read the word, and colour the worms face and antennae when we had learned all ten words fluently. We displayed the coloured worm in the kitchen for week and then filed them in our reading folder for revision.
We have two worms. The US version simply replaces "mum" with "mom" on Reading Worm 5. We also have a blank reading worm if you want to write in your own words.
