This lovely, colourful "calavera" or sugar skull would look great on display as well as used as a mask. You could also print it onto card, cut it out an use it as a base for some extra embellishment - perhaps with 3d craft paints, glitter, stickers, glue-on jewels or sequins?
Day of the Dead Mask
Calavera, or sugar skulls, are a traditional decoration for the Mexican festival of Day of the Dead. These masks are a simple way for children (or adults) to join in the fun. Just print onto card, cut out and tape to a stick or wooden spoon, or attach elastic.
This sugar skull template is perfect for a Day of the Dead collage activity. Just print onto white card and again onto paper. Cut the main shape out of the card, and use the paper for templates for smaller pieces of coloured card, felt, craft foam or other materials to glue on top.
