Learn a little about Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex and wife of our lovely Prince Harry, and enjoy our fun collection of printable activities with the kids - including colouring pages, worksheets and learn to draw activity! Harry and Meghan announced the birth of a little boy Archie on 6th May 2020. Their daughter Lilibet was born 4 June 2021 and the family now live in America.
Meghan Markle was born in 1981 in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in Hollywood, spending time on TV sets with her father, a lighting director. Perhaps it isn't surprising that she studied theatre (and international studies) at university, and then embarked on an acting career!
Meghan took a number of small parts and also supported herself on the side with calligraphy and modelling until her career took off in July 2011 when she won the part of Rachel Zane in the legal drama, Suits. She finished her seventh season of Suits at the end of 2017.
Meghan is multi-talented and busy! In 2014 she started a lifestyle website, The Tig. In 2016 she launched a line of fashion clothing with a Canadian company. She has also been involved in a number of humanitarian projects such as One Young World and World Vision Canada.
Meghan met Prince Harry on a blind date set up by a mutual friend, and they dated from June 2016 - at first very quietly, and then from October 2016 in the public eye. The couple were married at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, on 19th May 2018.
Since her marriage, Meghan has accompanied Harry on trips around the Commonwealth and the rest of the world - to Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand in 2018 and Morocco in 2019. She is a patron of the Royal National Theatre, the Association of Commonwealth Universities and Smart Works (a charity helping women to get back into work by providing suitable clothing and interview training). She is also vice president of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust, which focuses on projects involving children and welfare of prisoners.
