International Day of Families

The International Day of Families is celebrated on 15th May every year. It was created in 1993 by the UN General Assembly with the aim of raising awareness of issues relating to families, with a new theme each year.

The theme for 2021 is the impact of new technologies on families. There are positives and negatives! Obviously after the year we've just had, many of us wouldn't have been able to keep up with families with Zoom, Facetime and Skype! But is new technology always a good thing? There is no doubt that access to smart phones is changing the way children live and think, and giving them access to a much wider world than in the past, not all of it good.

We've got a big collection of activities that you might find useful for International Day of Families in our Family Topic, including colouring pages, printables, worksheets, cards, puzzles, certificates and lots more! Click through to explore.
