The Israeli Flag
The blue stripes on the Israeli flag represent the stripes on a tallit, the traditional Jewish prayer shawl. The Star of David in the centre of the flag is recognised as a symbol of the Jewish people and of Judaism. The flag was adopted on 28 October 1948.
