Thursday 26th October
It's almost Halloween and that means we have been adding even more Halloween fun for you this week. We've also taken a look ahead at Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot and of course Bonfire Night, with some really interesting new worksheets, puzzles and other printables. We've been learning about Julius Caesar - what a fascinating man! And Shelly shares with how she has been using some of our printable maths games with her kids this week.

An Idea from a Member ...
Brigitte emailed me earlier this week to tell me how she has been using our bookmarks and I loved the idea so much I asked if I could share it with you. In her words:
"I am the Front Desk Monitor at an elementary school in the US. I love your bookmarks! I have a program where I encourage reading through giving out bookmarks in exchange for a joke that I can post on the big white board in our lobby. The board welcomes visitors and tells them the date. The board also has our Joke of the Day and the children love to see their joke and name on the board! I get bookmarks for many sources and hand-make some of them, but your holiday bookmarks are a huge hit!
You can find our Bookmark collection here.
What's New at Activity Village ...
Adding 2 new colouring quote pages and cards to our series. Wise words to colour!
New activities for counting and comparing numbers from 11 to 20
A bundle of tricky mazes for Halloween!
Fun new number lines and hundred squares for Halloween (including fill in the blank and times table hundred squares)
New Halloween colouring cards for something a little different!
More puzzling fun for Bonfire Night. Why not print some of these off in case the fireworks display gets rained off!
Topping up our Guy Fawkes and Gunpowder Plot worksheets collection
New photographic posters for Bonfire Night displays
Did you know that Julius Caesar was once captured by pirates. When they demanded a ransom for his release, Caesar thought that the price was insultingly low and insisted that they raise it! More interesting facts about our Famous Person of the week available here!
This Week's Guest Post
