For these interesting puzzles we've created a grid of random numbers and pulled out "chunks" or shapes of numbers for the kids to try to find. They can then colour them in or outline them. If you prefer they could cut out the shapes and stick them on top of the grid when they find the correct position. The puzzles are a good way to reinforce early number recognition but also just a general challenge - a little like a word search, but different! There are 4 puzzles in this set, each with the same simple shapes to look for.
Number Chunks Puzzles Set 1
Here is a different sort of puzzle, which asks children to count carefully in an attempt to help Father Christmas find a lost key. There is practice of up, down, left and right too.
Solve some simple addiiton problems (up to 10) to help Father Christmas find his lost key! This puzzle is so much fun that the kids won't even realise they are practising their maths skills too...
