Phonics Phase One Initial Sounds Snap Pairs

 

Use our colourful cards for a traditional game of Snap! listening out for the initial sound of the word. Or, in this game of pairs, the children must find pairs of words with the same initial sound. The children take it in turns to turn two cards over and keep them if the pictures are alliterative. If they are not, the cards are turned face down again and the other person has a turn.

You could laminate these cards if you would like to use them again.

We have taken the words off these cards to encourage the children to listen to the phonemes carefully.
