Use our colourful cards for a game of rhyming word Snap! Or a game of pairs, where the children must find rhyming pairs. The children need to be familiar with the rhyming word families before they can use them in a game – spend time looking at the pictures and talking about the pairs. The children take it in turns to turn two cards over and keep them if the pictures are a rhyming pair. If they are not a rhyming pair, the cards are turned face down again and the other person has a turn. You could laminate these cards if you would like to use them again.
Phase One Rhyming Words Snap Pairs Game
Use our colourful cards for a traditional game of Snap! listening out for the initial sound of the word. Or, in this game of pairs, the children must find pairs of words with the same initial sound.
Play a traditional game of dominoes with these printable dominoes cards, but instead of matching dots, match the words that rhyme. Fun for kids of all ages. You could laminate the cards if you like, or glue them onto rectangles of craft foam for a more substantial "tile".
