Charles, Prince of Wales, is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and is heir to the British throne. In fact, he has been heir to the throne since 1952 and is therefore the longest "heir" ever in British history!
Prince Charles was born in Buckingham Palace. As a young man he went to Cambridge University before serving a tour of duty with the Royal Navy. He is the patron of many charities, travels widely for the Royal family, and is passionate about local, organic farming.
In 1981 he married Lady Diana Spencer and they had two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. In 2005 he married Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
