Russian Cityscape Silhouette

This beautiful silhouette picture will look stunning on display at any time - but of course it is particularly appropriate for a study of Russia. The silhouette draws its inspiration from the outlines of St Basil's Cathedral, in Moscow.

Russian Cityscape Silhouette

You will need:

Watercolour paper
Watercolour paints
Black card
Glue

Instructions:

Paint the paper with water. With a very wet brush, paint on swirls of red, orange and yellow paint, covering the entire paper and letting the colours run together.

Sketch the skyline on the black card. We were inspired by St Basil's Cathedral with it's points and onion domes.
When the paint is dry glue the black card onto the background.
