The best monarchs have a golden sceptre to carry as a sign of their royalty! The Queen of course held one on her coronation. Here's one the kids can make themselves.
You will need:
Cardboard tube
2 Polystyrene balls
2 lolly (popsicle) sticks
PVA (white) glue
Gold paint
Gems
Instructions:
Glue the lolly sticks together to form a cross.
Glue a polystyrene ball on to each end of the cardboard tube.
Carefully cut a small slit in the top of one of the balls, fill with glue and push in the lolly stick cross.
When the glue is dry, paint your sceptre gold. Glue on lots of gems to decorate.
