At the Dawn Service and at memorial ceromonies on Anzac Day, this short verse, known as The Ode, is often read. Taken from the poem "For the Fallen" by Laurence Binyon, its beautiful words are loved all over the world.
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
We have another version of this verse for Remembrance Day, here.
