Walter Raleigh was convicted of treason when James I came to the throne and spent the next 13 years in the Tower of London with a death sentence hanging over him. This worksheet asks the kids to do a little research about why this happened and practise their persuasive writing skills by asking them to write a speech for both the prosecution and the defence.
