This funny yak is one of the more unusual animals featured in our colouring page alphabet, and he's bound to help the children learn the letter Y!
What do you know about the yak? Find out a little bit, and explore our fun printable activities below.
Did You Know?
Yaks are tough animals that have learnt to survive in extreme conditions. They are related to buffalos and are mostly found in the Himalayas - almost 90% of yaks live there. Yaks have a thick, warm coat which keeps them warm and helps them survive extremely cold temperatures.
Fun fact: In the winter, yaks use their long horns as snow shovels when looking for plants to eat under a layer of snow.
Our Yak Activities
This lovely yak will make everyone smile as they learn the letter Y! Simply print out this page and display at home or in the classroom...
Take a look at the yak on our Y is for Yak colouring page! Yaks like to live high up in the mountains where it is cold; their long fur keeps them warm.
We hope the kids enjoy the picture of a yak on our "Y is for Yak" poster, and that it helps them to remember their alphabet. Of course, most of us will never actually meet a yak...
