William the Conqueror commissioned the Domesday Book so that he could find out all about his new country, England, and tax it correctly. The information contained in the Domesday Book has been hugely important to historians as it provides so much information about England as it was in the early 11th Century. This colouring page depicts William and one of his advisers as they study the completed Domesday Book.
