Maths Stage by Stage

Our Maths Stage by Stage section is a new venture and is a work in progress. We are starting from the very beginning with resources aimed at introducing numbers and maths skills to 4-5 year olds - and working upwards.

With visitors coming from all over the world, with many different objectives, it is hard for us to follow a particular curriculum. We therefore move in small steps through the different stages, clearly labelling each section or "lesson" so that you can find exactly what you need, whatever curriculum you follow. You may choose to start from the beginning and follow each step through. Or you may decide to pick and mix, finding appropriate fun activities to back up your existing resources and lesson plans.

Our resources are loosely based on Singapore Maths teaching. We suggest hands-on activities using manipulatives and everyday objects that you can enjoy with your children first, then provide printables and worksheets to back them up. We aim to provide plenty of opportunity for fun and games and discussion, as well as ample practice and revision, so that children enjoy their maths lessons and learn to solve problems and develop a "maths brain".
