Franklin D Roosevelt
Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882-1945) was the 32nd President of the United States, serving from 1933 to 1945.
Roosevelt was a Democrat. He is often thought of as one of the three greatest Presidents (along with Washington and Lincoln) and is the only President to have been elected for more than two terms. He launched the New Deal programme to bring America out of the Great Depression and led the country through the Second World War to the brink of victory over the Axis countries, before dying a few months before the final victory.
